Individual Therapy
My approach to individual treatment
With over 13 years of experience in the field of mental health, I have helped countless individuals overcome challenges to live happier, more fulfilling lives. As a licensed therapist, I have the training and experience to address a wide range of conditions including anxiety, depression, women’s prenatal/postpartum issues, and trauma.
Carla has advanced training in Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma (CPT).
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals by accepting difficult thoughts and emotions while committing to actions that align with their values.
Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma (CPT) is an evidence-based treatment that helps individuals who have experienced trauma to process their memories and beliefs in a safe and supportive environment.
Through these techniques, I’ve helped clients identify and challenge negative thoughts and beliefs related to their trauma, ultimately helping them to develop a more balanced and realistic perspective on life.
Issues I've treated with individual patients
Anxiety
Often anxiety can lead to avoidance, disconnection, and isolation. I want to support you in facing your fears to lead to a more purposeful and fulfilling life.
Depression
Pain, shame, and guilt can lead to a miserable existence if not properly treated. I will work to support you in moving beyond this stage in life to be able to experience the sunshine again.
Prenatal and postpartum issues
This precious time in a woman’s life can be a joyous occasion but also fraught with fear, concern, and maybe even sadness and depression. I want to give these mama’s the skills to move beyond their mood and connect with the new love of their life.
